The start of a new school year can be exciting and overwhelming for children and families alike. This month, over 3,000 students will return to Cary District 26, Fox River Grove District 3, and High School District 155, along with several area private and public schools.
Cary-Grove Free Press has created a LOCAL SCHOOLS page to help parents easily find links to important information. We'll also share any updates from state and local governments that affect students in the future.

Illinois Tax Discount on School Supplies
One of these updates is Illinois' Back-to-School state sales tax discount on school supplies and clothing. The State sales tax holiday is a ten-day period during which consumers can purchase certain clothing and school-related items and pay sales tax at a reduced rate.
Items include qualifying clothing and footwear with a retail selling price of less than $125 per item and certain school supplies used by students in the course of study. School supplies are not subject to the $125 threshold.
